Adam turned 12 today, I love that kid : ) He's a great little brother and I wish I could do more than just talk to him on the phone on days like today. 

The picture is of these quaint little bottles that are all over the house. Most of them are my grandpas moms old perfume bottles, they are so intricate and amazing. Grandma Michele kept them because they keep her close to her heart. I think it's sweet, and they make for interesting photos.

Some days your best friend turns 18, today might be one of them. Happy Birthday c-dub. 

I saw Joe and his family today, man I've missed them! We went to temple square and walked around. I've got to tell you that every time I go there it just gets more and more breathtaking. I was so surprised by how majestic and beautiful it is, and then I realized I hadn't seen it in 5 years so that might have something to do with it. Still, beautiful. 

Then I went to Joe's grandparents house in Ogden, it was so quaint and perfect. I kept gushing about it and he just looked at me funny. Oh well haha 

All in all a pretty fantastic day.

It rained today. Well rained is an understatement. One moment it was brilliantly sunny like it seems to be everyday here and the next it was pouring with hail force drops on the deck. I thought someone was banging on the house it was so loud. I have no brilliant thoughts of inspiration today, sadly. If I don't make some friends or get a job soon I'm going to go bonkers.

What a splendid day, last night the stars were brilliant and I saw more of them last night than I have in my whole life. Today I spent most of it on a 4-wheeler searching for some pleasant little alcove around here. There were none to be found, but I did see some pretty amazing landscapes. And the sunset wasn't so bad either. 

In honor of my past coworker Kristy who always made fun of me for wearing purple and orange together, I did today for fun :)

I hope CW doesn't read this before the card reaches him, because guess what? it's his birthday card. I strangely love it. I wrote him a freaking novel all along the back of it, but it was nice to just talk, I feel like I've been too quiet since I've been here. 

We're going to Wyoming tomorrow to camp out with my grandpas coworkers. I've never been to Wyoming before : )

Tomorrow is Julia Cannons 18th birthday. 

Guess who went out to lunch with cousins and grandma Bybee then got super sick and spent most of the afternoon in bed trying to get a hold on her body? oh yeah, this girl. ugh I hate feeling icky. Well this evening I went out with Michele and Gina and got pedicures and window shopped a bit. I love those girls. Looks like we're going to have some fun times.

Job hunting and grocery shopping, poor Taylor Steiner texted me when I was having a mental breakdown at the grocery store haha some things just take some getting used to when you're on your own. Like grocery shopping. I drove all over today and got my bearings so to speak and am trying to find all the chiropractic clinics in the area. Looks like this is going to be a couple day process.

This was the beginning of many strange days I fear. I went to the singles ward and talked to a grand total of 2 people. Guess I'll have to work on that. After church I went to visit Rachael :) It was great! I'm glad to have good friends so close. Then I went to see Grandma Bybee and get my lovely laptop back which is why all the sudden rush of posting because I haven't had my computer for weeks! All is well however and the sunset this evening was breathtaking!

Have you ever been to the pepperidge farms thrift store? haha it's where they put all their not quite so fantastic or complete cookies and goldfish. I rather liked it. Also we went to a birthday party and went across the border to Idaho to buy lotto tickets for Melody, Gina and Aubrie. Silly girls. That's one thing I've never done before either. Probably never will.

New places are scary, good thing this one is old.

Welcome to my new backyard. 

I spent the day settling into my new room. I'm still surprised about how few things I have. Who has two thumbs and has to go shopping? this girl. I don't own any jeans and very few shirts so I'm hitting up the D. I. as soon as I can. For those of you not in on Utah lingo, that the thrift store around here, like a classy salvation army. So as soon as I can, I'm off to that store. 

Off to Logan tomorrow to visit some family.

Trying to go anywhere in L.A. is a waste of time, literally. We only went one block in about a half hour. I'm not sure who has that kind of time to spare every day, but I think I can think of about 8 thousand better uses of my time. 

I left my mom and got on my own plane to go to my new home. Even if I did end up waiting in the airport for 6 and 1/2 hours, no big deal. haha It was nuts. Around 11:30 we were finally on the plane that was supposed to leave 3 hours prior. What can you do?

Back to the place where dreams come true. We spent all day walking back and forth between Disneyland and California adventure. If you haven't gotten the chance to go and see the parades and shows they put on, it would definitely be in your best interest because there is just something magical about all they do there.

Which also happens to be the best day of my life. Like the silly girl I am, we stayed to watch fantasmic the evening show they put on and I cried when beauty and the beast came dancing out on their little barge thing. haha best day of my life. I still maintain that Indiana Jones is my favorite ride. A number of different times I stopped to think about the sheer number of employees and money goes into running that park for just one day. Well I did my part to put a little money back into the park today. haha

Happy graduation to me.

Guess which book I read today at the beach? My cousin, Rebecca laughed at me a bit because she said I was smiling the whole time I was reading it. Probably because it's one of my favorites. It was a great day at the beach yet again and I only wiped out really bad on the boogie boards once... then I got out and ruined any chance of that happening again. Also, my legs are on fire!!

Day one at the beach with my great cousin and lots of sand, surf and sun. I read a book today haha and Melissa couldn't believe it. I also got a killer sunburn on the backs of my legs. Guess that's what I get for laying on my tummy most of the day. SPF 100, my foot.

From The temple in St. George to the Statue of Liberty in Las Vegas then finally arrive back at Aunt Melanies, I'd say we've had an incredibly full day. Also we had the best corn tamales at a fantastic mexican restaurant just off the strip in Vegas. Food has been the one thing I haven't been that impressed with so far on this trip haha but we're back in California and heading to the beach tomorrow!

It rained today for the first time on our trip. It was most welcomed and beautiful. We began our journey back to California today. From West Jordan to St. George, Utah with a few stops thrown in and a Transformer viewing later in the evening and the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Just me and mom on the road listening to the radio and laughing with each other. This is what I hoped for.

My dream is a simple one.

Someday I'll be married in this majestic building. 

I know it's silly, but I just love the way it looks sort of like a castle and I don't think I ever really got over the princess aspect of being a girl. The brick is beautiful and someday my prince will come and take me there :)

What happens when a family of 58 goes to church at the local senior center to be with their grandparents? Oh right, mayhem. haha we doubled their numbers. It was so great. Then had a great big lunch on the back lawn afterwards. Apparently everybody loves my grandparents there which is fantastic because I'm sorta fond of them too. My grandpa is the sweetest old man, I'm sad that they are getting older and not moving well anymore. All good things must end, but knowing that doesn't necessarily make it easier.

Oh hey most adorable second cousin of mine :) 

Official start of the Holbrook family reunion began this afternoon. These people are so lovely and I love every one of them. We drove down a big long winding mountain road to get to our rented house at Bear Lake then promptly jumped in the pool. This place was so huge and beautiful, I loved every minute!

HALF YEAR MARK!! Oh my gosh I'm so happy I've kept it up this long and haven't skipped a day. There have been a few narrow misses in there. 

Arrive in Salt Lake, drive directly to huge family gathering. I love being in Utah for that reason. Also my Great Aunt Shirley's back yard has all this really great character and there are cute little lawn gnomes and stuff, well I got made fun of a lot for taking this photo, but forget them.. I don't even remember their names. They married into the family and are bitter old men. haha I probably just got made fun of because I had to stand on a chair in order to take it.. haha oh well. What can you do?

Our evening ended with a trip to urgent care for Andrea because turns out she had a sinus infection, that bites. 

Up to the family reunion tomorrow!

Sorry about this one, I've really got to work on my camera because my whole shooting at night deal is having a hard time. haha Anyway we flew into L.A. today and I'm sorry for the mixed up order, but my technological side was giving me issues. Hooray! In L.A. for about an hour then out to crash at our hotel.

We went to the Grand Canyon today :) and drove forever through desert. Never have I seen so much sand and cactus. From a lowly Alaskan Flower to a Giant Arizona cactus, I'm not sure it's a step up, but We were in Beaver, Utah by nightfall and had the most interest mexican dinner in Kanab where one lady basically ran the whole restaurant and it was the best mexican food I've ever had. The Grand Canyon is so beautifully breathtaking,  if you ever get the chance to go, DO IT!!!

We went out to breakfast with my moms dad and his wife, my aunt Melanie and two of her daughters, Melissa and Christina. Then we drove from Corona California to Flagstaff, AZ on just 5 hours of sleep because it was so late when we got in last night.

I broke up with Joe today. There are lots of very logical answers as to why, but nobody really needs to know those, now do they? Last night in my bed, which of course meant no sleep at all and I just stared at the empty walls all night. There's something humbling about that. My life that I've built up for 18 years was in that room, and now it;s gone. It's strange to fathom. Life will be good, I'll get a job and enjoy being young and being alive.
